Casa del Huerto is a three bedroom detached house with an attractive garden and private pool located on the edge of the pretty Lecrin Valley village of Melegis, just 25 minutes south from Granada and on the edge of the Sierra Nevada National Park. The villa offers exceptional accommodation for a group or family who wish for the seclusion of a private garden and pool.

The villa occupies a privileged position in this attractive village, and the bedrooms enjoy clear views to the south and west past the church. The pool in the garden measures 6 mt by 3 mt and includes Roman steps suitable for small children. There is an avocado and other trees in the garden as well as a cactus, shaded patio and herbal borders.

The house has traditional Spanish floor tiles throughout, and wooden shutters at the windows. The ground floor consists of a vestibule, cloakroom with WC, basin and washing machine, and an open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room with two French windows opening out on to the south west facing garden.

On the first floor are two bedrooms, one double and one twin with two marble-tiled bathrooms (one en suite). Both bedrooms overlook the garden and the pool with views towards the village church and the hills.  

Further stairs lead to the top floor where there is a twin bedroom (double aspect) and a door leading on to the L-shaped terrace which is about 350 square feet in size. The terrace also overlooks the pool and faces south west with magnificent views of the Sierra de las Guájaras. In the evenings, take your drink on to the terrace and watch the hills turn lavender as the sun sets behind them!

“El Huerto” means orchard, which reflects the origins of the site. There is an orange grove to the sides of the house and an orange tree in the garden, as well as an avocado tree, grape vines, an apple tree and others. Feel free to pick the fruit if it is ripe.
