Casa Abuelas is a pretty townhouse sleeping 4 situated in the lower barrio of Pinos del Valle, a peaceful and unspoiled village of white-washed houses in the lush Lecrin Valley. The house is entered through a plant-filled patio with a pergola that offers a shady spot for dining in the summer. The house has been completely renovated and offers a comfortable base for touring the surrounding area or for just enjoying the slow pace of local life. There is a large roof terrace partly shaded by a pergola which is ideal for sunbathing and enjoying the views over the nearby citrus orchards and the foothills of the Sierra Nevada or for star gazing in the warm evenings. The terrace is furnished with table, chairs sun loungers and a BBQ is available. A pergola offers shade.

Casa Abuela offers a comfortable base for exploring the diversity of the surrounding area (from the city of Granada to the villages of the Alpujarras), or is ideal for just relaxing and enjoying the slow pace of local life.

Pinos del Valle is situated in the peaceful Lecrin Valley, midway between the city of Granada and the coastal resorts of the Costa Tropical. Pinos is a traditional working village and the pace of life is slow. There are 3 bars, a bank, 2 chemists, bakery and 3 grocery shops and all necessities can be bought in the village. Bread and fish vans call daily to the street and announce themselves by tooting. An interesting walk is the 45 minutes to the shrine which is perched high above the village and has wonderful panoramic views over the valley. Hard going but worth it when you get there! Available in the house is a series of further local walks in surrounding villages, local information and a good selection of videos, DVD's CD's, books and board games.

Access to surrounding areas is easy via the Granada-Motril motorway and you can be exploring Granada, visiting the Alhambra, lazing on the beach at Salobrena or in the mountains of the Alpujarras all within 30 minutes of leaving the house. You can also access golfing within 30 minutes or skiing in the Sierra Nevada in an hour or so.
